We have been following postings on a National Ferret Organization.  We feel
that this is something that is definitely needed.  We feel it would be in
the best interest of everyone involved that this org.  be commited to the
LEGAL issues surrounding our babies.  There are already TONS of clubs and
other orgs dedicated to shows, info, education, etc.  .  .
 
If it is decided that this should be an international group, how does
I.N.F.O. (Inter-National Ferret Organization) sound for the name?
 
As far as dues go, we are concerned that the popular figure of $120 a year
maybe be prohibitive to many fuzzy owners especially shelter and foster
parents who already pay HUGE amounts out of pocket.  Maybe a better figure
would be a minimum of say, $30-$50 dollars / year, with the option of giving
more if you are able???  This would help to include even those ferret owners
that are on a very-tight budget.  BTW, this is not a plea for cheap
membership on our part, only allowing for the largest amount of people to be
involved in this group (i.e. MORE MONEY AND MORE POWER!!!)
 
As for the posting yesterday, by Bill Killian.  We were kind of disheartened.
We are AFA members, and love being a part of a large ferret organization,
BUT they are ALREADY involved in TOO MANY OTHER THINGS, to tackle legal
issues on top of everything else they do!!  That's what we think this new
organization's sole purpose and goal should be!!  One that focuses SOLELY on
LEGAL goals, in doing so, they will in no way take away from the wonderful
work local and national groups already do for all of ferretdom!!!
Hopefully, this will prevent any hard-feelings and stepping on of toes, but
who knows?!?!?
 
These are only our humble opinions, and not ment to offend anyone.  We would
love to hear input, positive or negative, but please don't flame us:) We are
willing to discuss our opinions openly, and without prejudice.  We are
usually lurkers, but haven't been on long.  Who knows, maybe some day people
will know OUR names like the other giants of the ferret world!!  :) I think
we've probably sparked enough flames tonight, so hugs and warm-wet fuzzy
kisses to you all.
