Amusing Story.

3 of the 6 ferrets were up yesterday when I came home from work. The other
3 were still sleeping. My husband re-arranged the living room yesterday
when I got home & let the ferrets out, I didn't think of anything of the new
arrangement (he's 3-11pm, so he was already at work). Well apparantly
without him knowing, he made a little ferret ladder to the back of the
entertainment center. The 3 of them would climb up, knock things off of the
entertainment center (tapes, cds, videos, knick-knacks, nintendo controls,
etc). I COULD NOT keep them away from it. Every time I put them down, with
a good smack and a firm no, they'd war dance and bolt right back over. It
didn't even give me enough time to fix the "ladder" so they couldn't get
back up. After about 15 minutes of this routine, I got a little frustrated.
OK, a L-O-T frustrated. I scruffed all 3 and tossed them into their room.
Slammed the door and huffed back into the living room to fix the mess. Once
fixed, I went stomping back towards their room, with smoke breathing out of
my nostrils. I opened their door to find the 3 of them sitting on the floor
staring up at me. 3 little monkeys. See no evil, hear no evil & speak no
evil. They didn't budge. And I proceeded to give them a good scolding like
I've never done before. I ranted and raved about "when mommy tells you NO
she meand *N-0*. And how disappointed I was, blah blah blah. I swear after
a while I could hear myself and I happened to notice the looks on their
faces. I looked/sounded like a lunatic. It was kind of funny. They just
sat there, wide eyed, staring at me. Every once in a while they'd glance at
each other, but for the most part they just stared at me. They'd throw in a
blink every once in a while, too. Very puzzled.

After the scolding, I walked out of their room and stood in the hall for a
minute to see if they'd come out. Nope. I peeked back in and they were
still sitting there looking like they weren't sure if they should move yet.
So I went up to them and picked them up and kissed them and told them they
have to start to listen to mommy...blah blah blah. Belive it or not, it
worked (for the night). First thing this morning, all 6 of them were giving
me a run for my money.
