Question For The Vets:

My vet would like to have some input on Ivermectin. He says he has had some
success in small animals like guinea pigs and rabbits with it, but not very
good success in larger animals, like cats. He would like to try it out on
ferrets, but needs to know the following:** dosage and how many
treatments**. He is also interested in other vets' experiences in using
Ivermectin to treat earmites. Another vet heard it caused ferrets to go
deaf. A vet in Vancouver suggests all ferrets should get a dose of it when
they go in for their shots, as a preventitive against any type of parasitic
infestation, as it were. My vet doesn't know if he agrees with pumping this
into currently healthy animals if it is unneccessasry,, but he does want to
learn as much about it as possible.

Thanks for your input,

oh yes - We rescued a terribly abused little albino female last week ... she
was dirtier than you can imagine, making it so we weren't quite sure if she
was a dark eyed white/silver until we looked in her sad little tired ruby
eyes. Her nails were grotesquely long, the pads of her feet were burnt from
what we assume was walking on hot pavement and she'd been left in heat for
some time. Despite this, she is the sweetest, most adorable little angel
with the nicest personality you could imagine. Boy does that ever cheeze me
off.
