Some of our ferrets had names that were just names or which they liked
themselves for the sounds of them. Some of them had names which really
fit. Some had names that turned out to not fit but were just stuck
there.

I'll ignore a number of names and mention of some notables.

Smash (fit)
Haleakala (fit)
Helix (fit -- she did it with her tail motion whenever excited, and
when fully excited with her whole lower body)
Hjalmar (fit -- you had to know him to realize it)
Hubble (ditto above comment and for similar personality reasons)
Meltdown (fit)
Glueball (the most perfect name there ever could have been for that
kissy girl who held on with her hands and kissed people raw)
Sherman (fit the sweet little, inquisitive tank)
Jumpstart (fit and he did jumpstart others, too)
Ashling (fit in translation and because she was very sophisticated)
Fritter (fit for personality and sleep smell)
Hilbert (fits)
Pivot (fits)
Warp (fit)
Telemna (fits in translation, and thank you to DV who took her name
and silver coloration to a new plane)
Whizbang (fits)
Morney (fits in translation)

The ones we had whose names were the worst fits were probably
Spot
and
'Chopper the Ferret Helicopter (even though she was a helicopter in
behavior people misunderstood "Chopper" in a bad way)

In a category of her own:
Ruffle (fit for the first half of her life then didn't really)

Then there were the many whose names were so-so, but that's the way
with most human's names, too, isn't it? How many people have names
that truly fit them well once they are adults?

Sukie (not a vet)
