Run, don't walk to find a new vet for your ferret.  IMRAB-3 was approved for
use in ferrets back in 1990.  It is a killed vaccine.  It is listed in the
Compendium for Animal Rabies Control as being approved for ferrets, and has
been every year since the 1991 edition (if I remember correctly).  Your vet
should have copies of those and really should be reading them if he is
vaccinating animals against rabies.  For a vet not to know that is
inexcusable in my opinion.
