We took Fidgit to the vet the other day because his ear was starting to look
sore and produce crud. The vet said he had earmites with a tiny bit of
bacteria and yeast also showing up. He prescribed Tresaderm and said he
thought that would work best. He mentioned giving an injection of
Ivermectin but then added that it wasn't approved for ferrets and could
cause side effects or reactions. Does this sound correct? He suggested to
try the Tresaderm for 10 days stop for a week and remedicate for another 10
days. He said he wasn't sure how well Tresaderm worked on ferrets. Our
regular ferret vet lives in another state and we just had to make do with
this guy who told us he didn't know tons on ferrets but was slowly learning.
I just want to make sure Fidgit gets the best care possible.

We took Fidgit to the park the other day, it was his first trip to play
outdoors. I was surprised to find that he loved the small slide. He was
apprehensive of it at first but couldn't resist the shiny material and so he
slid down on his own...with his humans at the side and bottom just in case
problems arose. He loved it though and once at the bottom did a little
dance and made his happy noises and raced back to our feet to be picked up
so he could do it again. He just continued sliding down for 15 to 20
minutes when we decided he should take a break. He was on his leash and
usually follows right along with us. This time though he would make mad
attempts to run back towards the slide, so we gave in and let him play for a
few more mintues. His second favorite toy to play on was a bunch of tires
that were in some odd formation. He had fun running along the insides of
them and jumping from one to the next. I guess this spring we will be
making quite a few more trips to what Fidgit believes is heaven. :) Just
thought I'd share his adventure.
