Hi Eleanor,
Actually, I think it is a poorly written sentence that actually refers
to the rodents as the ferret's diet.

The exact sentence is "Once you have found a baby ferret for sale,
ask breeders about rodent care." It goes on to talk about ferrets body
shape, and how they can go into burrows. As written, the statement
could be taken to mean ferrets are rodents.

In other parts of the site, however, they do correctly identify ferrets
as rodent eating carnivores. On the home page, the following statement
is made: "Ferrets are carnivorous, belonging to Mustelidae family, the
oldest living family in the Carnivora."

I am not sure of the country of origin of this site, but it does contain
information on using ferrets for hunting. Also, while it mentions
ferrets can be fed kibble, it also talks about their 'natural diet' of
rabbits and rodents. So, while the sentence was poorly written, I do
not think its intention is to say ferrets are rodents. Instead, I think
it is implying that people getting ferrets should find out about raising
rodents to feed the ferret. Just MHO, though, and I could be wrong.

Interesting find on the web, though.
