Hi everyone, Just to let you know that I might be bringing Tinker home today
or tomorrow. I visited him yesterday and he was very energetic and playful,
and actually was trying to bust out of his cage when I was ready to go. I
really look forward to having him home again!

I would like to let everyone know that I now take my fuzzies to the same
hospital as Debbie Riccio does: Brockport Animal Hospital. I can't say
enough about them, THEY ARE GREAT!!! Tinkers doctor is Dr. Christine
Armao, but Dr. Edwards has also looked in on him and talked with me about
Tinker too. What's also good to know is when Tinker had his Endoscopy, all
3 doctors looked in on it. And I have to agree with Debbie: Mary is an
angel, she really made it easier for me to leave Tinker for the first time,
and she and Dr. Armao really cared and understood my feelings throughout
this whole ordeal. The whole staff deserves a special THANKS!!

While I was at the hospital, I finally met Pat Nothnagle and Jeanne
Stadmiller, and talked Pat into giving me a tour of her rescue shelter(it
didn't take much coaxing). I was amazed by the stories of these poor little
fuzzies. It really broke my heart to hear about the neglect and abuse that
occured with some of the ferrets she now houses. How can anyone hurt such a
loving, tiny little animal? That was my first look at sick ferrets also, up
to now all I have seen is ferrets at the pet shops. After seeing them, I
decided to do all I can for the helpless little beasts. I'm also working on
my SO, trying to talk him into another one.

BTW, it was Pat who referred my to Brockport Animal Hospital and the
wonderful vets there, and it was Meg Carpenter(thanks Meg) who suggested I
call her to find one to help me ASAP, after my usual vet was unable to help
me right away due to a emergency at home. I had heard before that it was a
good place to take them, from another FML'er, but I thought it would be too
far to drive. We don't always think too clearly when we have a sick baby,
and a gentle urge from others helps. Well, now I know that it is very
important to have vets that know what they are doing where ferrets are
concerned, and mileage shouldn't be a factor in considering a good vet for
our loved ones. Most importantly, connect with ferret people and a good Vet
BEFORE an emergency, I sure learned! Also, don't just settle for one that's
so-so. Thanks to everyone who helped me and thanks for all the words of
kindness throughout this ordeal.

Congrats Massachusetts!!, and happy International Women's Day to women
everywhere!!(sorry guys)
