Just a coupla things here today...

RAISINS: Thank GOD my ferrets are NORMAL! They HATE raisins! I was
getting so worried. I even had a woman at a ferret show in Baltimore
say "They don't like raisins?! Oh, they must be weird!"

RICE: I would highly suggest NOT using rice. When the rice is hard it is
in it's dehydrated form. That means when it comes near water, it will
SWELL, up to four times its original size. When inside a ferret's belly
(or intestine) it will swell up and cause blockages. My silly grandmother
poured uncooked rice down her kitchen sink (w/disposal) once and it swelled
in the pipes so bad they had to get the plumber over to clear it out.

GIZMO: Thank you SOOO much to all the people who have given me replies.
I'm *trying* to get personal thank-yous out. I've printed out lots on
information to take to my vet so we can discuss the best plan of attack.
Giz is going to the vet on Sunday to have his fat rolls aspirated. We're
going to stick with medication for now (since he's already on it anyway)
and pass on the surgery. I'll give an update on Monday (hopefully).

In a final note, my regards and prayers to all with sick or lost ferrets or
ferrets who have passed on. I agree with another poster (sorry, I missed
your name) that all the posts about lost, sick, etc. ferrets makes me cry
every single time. I wish you the best.
