Well Thursday was the big day. Drag went into surgery at 8 am. His
surgery took 2 hours, the longest 2 hours of my life as I waited for him
at the clinic. Thanks to my friend Brenda for being there with me and
waiting with me. It was a shoulder to cry on.

Before his surgery Dr. Kolmstetter came in the room to talk to me, when she
left to get ready, Drag came to me and sat in my lap with his head turned
away from the door. I suspect he was as afraid as I was. Although I
though I could not cry anymore, I cried when they took him to the surgery
room, I kissed his head and told him I loved him very much. I told him I'd
see him later. Dr. K kept me informed throughout the whole surgery by Amy
one of the techs there.

She did the bladder reduction, his bladder wall was very thick but
workable. That went quickly and with out incident. Since that went
quickly she went ahead and did the P/U, that also went with out any
complications. He came through surgery with flying colors!

I'm still crying, but with tears of joy.

I got to visit with him after the surgery, he was still out of it, but I
still told him how strong he is and again how much I love him. Drag still
has a long road of recovery ahead of him but, I'm hoping for the best. He
will never be "normal" and we will still have to squeeze him, but i hope i
have many years to do it. No matter how much he hates being squeezed, I
always receive great ferret kisses when its over.

He will spend a week or so with Dr K and then his tube will be out and he
can come home.

i can only believe that the power of positive thoughts by everyone helped,
and I can not even express my thanks to each and every one of you. I also
am very thankful to have the most compassionate and skilled vet that there
is. I know that mant other vets would have given up on him by now, but Dr
K never gave up on Drag.

I also can't thank my friend Brenda for being through all of this with me,
I don't know what I did to ever deserve a friend like her, but I thank God
for her friendship.

Tomorrow i will see Drag again and I will tell him how much everyone has
been sending good thoughts his way. i know he really doesn't understand
my words but in a way I think he feels the positive energy.

Now with that bridge crossed, i have to focus on Bandit, my first ferret,
he is 10 years old. He is going in tomorrow because his heart is getting
worse and we may have to bump up his meds. Also Brownie my 7 yrs old and
3 rd ferret has a large mass in her abdomen.

We also have Tim Tim at the hospital, a 7 month old ferret that was rescued
by my friend Samantha, he weighs less than 1/2 a pound and is very ill.
I'm telling you, when it rains it pours.

Please kiss your ferrets for me tonight, tell them its from their friends
CJ and Drag. Love them like its there last day on earth, they only have a
short time with us, make the most of every moment.

Ferret hugs to all of you, CJ and Drag
