We had a ferret with a severe respiratory infection that turned into
pneumonia - we kept him on Clavamox, Baytril, and Amoxi (overkill, I
know but he also had several other types of infections) for around 3
weeks. This was because he did not "seem better" (he still had
symptoms) until 2 weeks, and we always do one extra week past the
"seems like you're cured" phase. Not scientific I guess but it did
the job.
