Here is my yearly plea for tax-deductable donatations to the Huron Valley
Humane Society.  They are not associated with the Michigan Humane Society,
took in ferrets before they were legal (I know because they took in mine),
and are a no-kill shelter.  I am in no way related to them.  their address:
