I have seen a couple of the Beastmaster movies and in the movie when the
Beast-master is explaining himself and his powers and introducing his
animals, he talksof his powers with the wild animals and introduces Podo and
Kodo as his PETS.  He did make that distinction (which I thought was kinda
great)
