The IFC would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone the 2008
Ferret Symposium will be at the Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport Hotel
November 7 - 9, 2008.

Presenters include the following veterinarians:

Dr. Joerg Mayer, developer of the Tufts University chemotherapy
protocol, discussing chemotherapy in ferrets...

Dr. Ruth Heller discussing distemper and her vaccination titer study...

Dr. Sandra Snell presenting alternative medicine options...

Dr. Lauren Powers helping us know when to say "when" and the
importance of necropsies...

And Dr. Robert Wagner will host a break-out group on pre- and post-
natal care of ferrets for those interested in breeding.

Additional vets are being booked.

Additionally, the always entertaining Jeanne Carley, photographer and
designer of the Ferret Calendar, will present new ferret photos. Rest
assured, her presentation will evoke more AAWWWs than you knew you had
in you :-)

Barb Carlson will provide guidance on nursing sick ferrets back to
health at home...

Ailigh Vanderbush will give us insight into kit and adult ferret
socialization...

David Gaines, who helped legalize ferrets in Washington, DC, will
talk about legislative issues.

Danee Devore will share her experiences with 2 recent litters,
including lots of pictures...another AAWWW factor.

Stay tuned as there are more to come.

Joel Vanderbush, the very entertaining dynamo, will be our MC this year.
He's funny, informative and is not to be missed.

As usual, there will be vendors selling all manner of ferrety items.

Money is tight right now and prices have been kept as low as possible.
Symposium rates are $185 for a 3 day pass, $90 for a Saturday only
pass and $40 for the optional Friday evening buffet dinner with the
speakers.

Rooms are $95 per night and may be shared. If you are looking for a
room-mate please send your request to [log in to unmask] -
that's ferret _ symposium @ yahoo.com ...(no spaces) and those who
are interested will be put in contact with each other.
