Thank you for the explicit details of how gelatin is made for
consumption.  I do occasionally eat some in some form and anyone who eats
marshmallows eats it.  But I thought it really showed how some people
don't know that it is an animal product when I went to a vegetarian/vegan
pot luck dinner and several participants brought some kind of dessert
made with gelatin.  Those who knew better kindly reminded them about the
source, and ate their own agar-jelled desserts.
