Ok folks, here is what is happening now.  I just choked when I was told
$600 for the ADV tests, (yep, I did.  All I could think was, that would
cover two cryo surgeries) But, ya got to do what you got to do.
 
Everyone will be tested by saliva first, and if it seems funny, (ya know,
the "slight" negative and positives) we will follow up with a blood test.
I am 99.9% positive that everyone here is negative.  You see, Trouble is
a mink and a very healthy one at that.  And a couple of vets have assured
me that if ADV came into the shelter, it would without a doubt attack
Trouble, and he would show signs very quickly.  He is as fat and sassy
and happy as ever weighing in at 5.5 lbs.
 
We got enough test for all the ferrets here, and the few on the waiting
list that will be coming in.
 
We have three ferrets going in for tumor removal (Lin, Jen, and Ms.
Sebastian).  Jen's tumor is large and on her hip (nearly the size of a
golf ball) She is still thin, and no matter how much she eats she won't
put an ounce on.  There may not be enough skin to cover the area once the
tumor is removed, so she is going to be a nursing challenge.  She may
lose her hip.  We won't know until the vet goes in.
 
Lin is having a garbanzo sized tumor removed from her ear, and Ms.
Sebastian is having toes removed due to tumors.
 
We have had food donations to get us through a month or two, which is a
blessing.
 
Keep Jen in your prayers, and hope she behaves with her wound after
surgery.
 
Thank you all for everything you have done.  Keep hoping for that big
miracle, with enough prayers, it may just happen yet, look at all the
small ones that have happened!!
