Rose petals themselves are usually considered edible, but if they have
been sprayed with something can be a different matter.

It is important to use a veterinary list like those above because some
plants are not toxic for humans but are toxic for members of Carnivora
and vice versa. Comparing the toxic and nontoxic list to things humans
use or avoid you will notice that very rapidly.
