I weigh all my ferrets every month with a little food scale.  The scale
has a plastic bowl which holds even my bigger boys.  I drizzle Ferretone
in the bowl, and read the weight QUICKLY before the ferret gets too
wiggly.  It may seem a bit "anal", but I keep their monthly weights on a
chart which hangs in the Ferret Room.  I find it interesting to follow
their seasonal fluctuations, which don't always correspond with the
calendar.
