Sherri,
Florida is one of the states that do not have a quarantine period and in
most cases, public officials will kill and test ferrets involved in
bite/scratch incidents. So keep those ferrets away from the kids and anyone
else who may report a bite inflicted by one of your ferrets!

Keep in mind that if the person who was bitten cannot identify which ferret
bit them, Animal Control has the authority to take ALL your ferrets.

For more information on how you can help change this law, contact me
privately for email addresses, phone numbers and addresses of the Board
Members of the Florida Coalition for Rational Rabies Policies. This group
is working to establish quarantine periods for ferrets.

Susie
