I was up till almost 2 working and then up again at 6:45 working so I
have NOT extensively investigated these links.

Travel with pets (3 sections):

<http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ac/pettravel.html>

Emergencies (4 sections):
<http://www.healthypet.com/library_list.aspx?id=3> [also above?]
<http://www.americanhumane.org/site/PageServer?pagename=pa_care_issues_safety>
<http://avma.org/disaster/default.asp>
Pet Evacuation Act:
<http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=109_cong_public_laws&docid=f:publ308.109.pdf>

Importation:

Stolen of missing companion animals:
<http://www.aphis.usda.gov/lpa/pubs/fsheet_faq_notice/fs_awsafepet.html#content>

Animal behavior:
<http://www.usask.ca/wcvm/herdmed/applied-ethology/>
Caged too much:
<http://www.usask.ca/wcvm/herdmed/applied-ethology/behaviourproblems/zooanim.html>
Something that some ferrets also do (submissive urination):
<http://www.usask.ca/wcvm/herdmed/applied-ethology/behaviourproblems/suburine.html>
Something some ferrets also do (Pica):
<http://www.usask.ca/wcvm/herdmed/applied-ethology/behaviourproblems/picabeh.html>

It notes that dsyphagia (trouble swallowing) sometimes has eating of
non-food items as a symptom so I am curious if people have encountered
it in ferrets who later were found to have Mega Esophagus.
*****Anyone know the answer to the question above?

<http://www.ddfl.org/tips.htm>
<http://www.ddfl.org/behavior/ferrets.pdf>
(Just skimmed it; some of the toys mentioned worry me, also, most
ferrets can be easily trained away from nipping by making big fusses
about good behavior and showing that bad behavior gets the animal
ignored w a time-out.)

HMMMMMMM: the serious bite rate PER CAPITA ANIMAL appears to be the
SAME for rabbits and ferrets, and dogs and cats have worse rates, so
why are ferrets listed as unsafe for kids and rabbits are listed as
recommended pets for kids? ANY pet and child combo requires supervision
and training:
