Hi guys,

Shelter mom updated me on some food info . . .

Seems ProPlan Turkey *has* changed to that Turkey is no longer #1
ingredient. As I said, you've got to check this every time you think about
buying it. The foods in her shelter mix are a bit different than mine--she
adds Innova, and Nutro Max kitten (Nutro cat, as I recall, was a larger
size and frequently got stuck between the ferrets' upper teeth and drove
them nuts).

And she reminded me that Shepherd & Greene, along with 8 in 1 are both high
in fish (and soaked in raising juice, though I'm certain the ferrets don't
mind that a bit!

And she gives Iams kitten to seniors for the calcium and because it's
softer and easier to chew.

And ... she warns me that eventually I will run into ferrets that WILL NOT
switch foods no matter what, and eating something is better than eating
nothing. She tries Chef's Blend lamn and rice and other "not perfect food"
on hand so if she gets some picky eaters at least she has something to
offer. And I suppose you've got to feed a ferret in poor condition a food
they will eat until their condition improves.

And all I say is always IMHO, (or even better, "our HO" as we're still
learning as much as everyone else is!!

And Cuji (Laura) is wondering if any other shelters notice they get more
surrenders during the full moon, or is it just her?

Happy New Year!
