I let my ferrets eat from my plate & share drinks of mine all the time.
Usually, I don't let Friday drink from my glasses because she sticks her
head UNDER the surface of the liquid and then starts BLOWING BUBBLES. I
might be pretty staunch about sharing my food with my pets, but I draw the
line at some weasel purposefully snorting snot into my drink. However, the
other day (not for the faint of heart) I tried out someone's suggestion and
offered some banana to my ferrets. Of course, it was a banana that I was
eating, so I held the end up to them and much happy ferret slobbering ensued.

Well, when I gauged they'd had more than enough, which wasn't very much
really, I was left with a slobbery gnawed-on banana and I was waaaay too
lazy to go upstairs and cut it off. Er...end of story. Let's just say that
I'm not dead yet.
