Flea collars on a ferret is not a good idea (IMO).  Because most of them
are some sort of plastic, should the ferret manage to work it off (and they
can), the opportunity to EAT pieces of the collar can be a real problem -
besides the concern for intestinal blockage, there is the additional worry
of ingesting poison from the collar itself.
 
Treating the house and giving the ferret a flea bath would be safer.
