Ran into another thing that might be useful for vets to ask about
before surgery. Aloe vera should not be given to ferrets, anyway!
If memory serves the problem goes beyond the standard listing below
and into kidney damage in ferrets from it:

Anyway, in
Lee A, Po Chui PT, Aun ST, et al. Possible interaction between
sevoflurane and Aloe vera. Ann Pharmacother. 2004;38:1651-1654.

it is also noted that the combination appears to worsen the blood
thinning effects of sevoflurane so vets should know if a ferret got
into that before surgery.
