Hi, I am a teacher and I sponsor a critter club at school. I came up
with the idea last year and expected no more than 40 students. To my
suprise, it was a huge success! The local newspaper the Las Vegas Sun
did an article on my students. You would not believe the different types
of animals we had at school...from horses to a 12 foot python! Working
with animals became my passion! I love teaching but I found the both of
best worlds. I can help animals and share my love for animals with my
students through the club. It would be great to see other schools adopt
different shetlers each year. Teens love animals and it builds
compassion and responsibility.

We had over 200 students in the club. I have been trying to get other
schools to do the same across the United States. I already have most of
the forms made that you would need to have-since you are working with
teens etc.

I made a website for the critter club, it is attached to our school
website it is http://users.lvcm.com/dwew/club/club.htm

If you have a shelter that you feel should be sponsored, please email me
and give me two paragraphs about the shetler and what its needs are. My
email address is [log in to unmask]

You can also nominate your favorite shelter by visiting my website at

We are having a calendar contest. We decided to choose 12 photos to add
to the calendar and put cute captions with it that you write about your
own ferret. This is the first year at attempting this task!

Thanks for taking time to read this!
