Jennifer-

You may want to consider what I do. I have a friend who also has several
ferrets (I have 9, she has 4). When I go away for any length of time,
they go to her apartment for a visit. I take a cage to her place, and my
ferrets spend the time with her. They also get a vacation, with ferrets
that they know and like to play with, and have a different environment to
explore. She is used to the kind of things ferrets do, so she doesn't
mind cleaning up messes and keeping them out of too much trouble.
Whenever she goes on a trip, I do the same for her. I have a huge cage,
so when hers come to my house, they "bunk" with mine.

You didn't mention where you lived in your post; you may want to post
again, and see if anyone in your area is interested in forming a co-op
with you for ferret sitting. It works well for me. Everyone is happy
with our arrangement.
