I am trying to eat 'healthy', and one of tips I have gotten is to give
meat, veggies and fruit a Clorox bath when you first bring them home.
This is also a tip that military familes living overseas use. You add
1 teaspoon of plain Clorox (use the brand name ONLY!) to 1 gallon of
water. Put the meat/chicken in the water and let soak for 20 mins, then
soak in plain water for 15 mins. For fruits and veggies, soak for 15
mins in the Clorox water, then 15 mins in plain water.

This bath will kill bacteria, including salmonella, and will enhance the
flavor of fruits and veggies, and help them to stay fresher longer..
really!! I was really skeptical the first time I tried it, but you
don't taste the bleach AT ALL, and the flavors are really better.

This would work for the raw eating furries...
