I guess we'll never agree on the feeding of raw meat. I stick mainly to
chicks and rabbit. However, all raw meat *must* be fresh, feeding meat
that is "off" is a definite NO! I've heard about some ferret keepers
feeding their ferrets sausages that smelt a bit odd which they would not
eat themselves and then wondering why their ferrets died from food
poisoning!

I'm very wary about feeding my ferrets beef these days with the problems
over BSE. The chicks I get are supposed to be salmonella free, how true
that is I don't know but I've never had any problems.
