Dear ferret community,
 
By our definition, Chere's situation is a disaster and needs our support.
 
Chere (among others) still have debts from the HSUS convention where they
*successfully* lobbied the HSUS to change their stance on ferrets.  All
of the ferret community owes them a debt of gratitude for their hard work
and personal sacrifices to get HSUS to issue their positive statement on
"Ferrets as Companion Animals."
 
Although it's not a large amount, the Oregon Ferret Association has sent
$100.00 to Chere's vet to cover future expenses. In addition, Chris Mathis
(of the Oregon Ferret Shelter) and I are sending 12 tubes of Nutra-Stat, a
bottle of Flea Spray, and a "we care" package of human goodies.
 
We challenge each of you to rally around Chere and give her any support that
you can. I'm sure that any monetary or emotional support as well as any
consumable ferret supplies would be greatly appreciated.
