I love roses of all colors, and my boyfriend has given me quite a few in
the year we've been together. Sappy stuff, I know! :) I love them so much
that I hang them upside down in my closet and dry them, then put them in a
vase on my desk.

Now, my desk is pretty much ferret-proof, because of all those wonderful
things like erasers and such...but you know how fuzzbutts are. My girls
found a way up there! They didn't take anything ( I make sure that the
really hrmful stuff is put in secure drawers) but apparently they had
knocked off one of the roses. It stayed behind the desk where I couldn't
see it, and I began noticing bits of petal everywhere, and some broken bits
of dried stem in their hidey-space under my bed.

Are roses poisonous? I know they've eaten some petal, and possibly some
bits of stem, although I caught them before they got too far into it. It's
been a few days, and no signs of illness, change in behaviour, or eating
habits have occured.

Blessings to all ferrets and ferret lovers in need, especially the shelter
in New Jersey. If I had any money, I would send some mmediately. PLEASE
help these guys out! They'll have no home! Good luck, Ferret Hollow. My
prayers are with you.
