-I wrote in a few days ago wondering about the effects the change of season
had on my ferret. He completely shed his guard hair and also lost a great
deal of weight. I took him to a ferret party on sat he was fine, thinner
but fine. Sunday nothing out of the ordinary. This morning I noticed that
he was coughing over his food. I checked nothing was coming out. I left
for work for a few hours and when I came home he looked bad. He even felt
cold. I called the vet, Ruth Heller of the Borderbrook Animal Hospital in
Murraysville, Pa aand she let me bring in him in right away. His fever
was 96.5 and he wasn't moving. She did an x-ray and saw something. She
canceled the rest of her appointments to do surgery on him. Two hours
later she called and told me she found some foam. She said it had been in
there for a while as it had turned green. She has ferrets of her own and
said she would take him home to keep an eye on him. Is that amazing or
what? I hope Pookie makes it through he is the sweetest boy. Tomorrow I
am going over this place to make sure that there is nothing they can get
into.
