To Kristin March:

It is not unusual for ferrets to have burgundy eyes. I have 1 cinnamon,
3 silvers, and 4 white ferrets - all with burgundy eyes. Sometimes you
might not even realize your ferret has burgundy eyes until the light
catches their eyes a certain way.

I have had several people tell me they have an "albino with color points";
however, we I see the ferrets they are light silver with burgundy eyes.
I have only seen one true albino with points - Linda Harrah's Smudge.
And I believe (Docs - correct me if I'm wrong on this one please) that
there is some sort of genetic eye condition associated with that unusual
occurrence.

When I have shown my white ferrets, they have all been classified as
black-eye'd whites, rather than burgundy-eye'd whites. So, I don't think
you need to worry........however, not wanting to sound too casual about
this, if there is any question in your mind that there is a problem,
consult your veterinarian.
