Okay, this is the wierdest post I've ever made....

Two nights in a row, I had nightmares about ferrets. Any dream analysts out
there??? :-)

The first one I KNOW where it came from. I got The Ferret Calendar for
Christmas...I know, you're wondering how that could possibly spur a
nightmare? Well, if you've seen the new one, there's a picture in it of a
ferret floating underwater on it's back (trick photography, no the ferret
wasn't underwater). Anyway, while the photo does not disturb me, it must
have disturbed my subconscious. I had a dream that I had a ferret in the
shelter (of course my shelter looked nothing like it really does, and this
particular ferret in my dream does not exist). Anyway, I came home to the
shelter to look in my 50 gallon fishtank (also something I do not have) to
find this shelter ferret at the bottom of the tank. Alive, but still, in
the fishtank. I take the ferret out of the tank, then later I come back to
find the ferret in the tank again. Sometime in my dream, the previous owner
of the ferret comes to visit the ferret, and I have to explain that the
ferret keeps jumping in the fishtank and is going to drown. It's really an
awful dream--I awoke with a horrid sense of panic.

(I do not hold any bad feelings towards The Ferret Calendar, by the
way....great calendar, awesome photos...if you don't own one, BUY one!!)

The next night's dream was even more disturbing. As I posted earlier, my
two oldest ferrets, Ricky and Sassy, passed away the week before Christmas.
Well, in my dream, for some unknown, horrid reason, I was being forced to
turn over all of my "senior" ferrets to some SPCA to be euthanized. Not my
babies or the two year olds....just Ricky and Sassy (who of course are
gone), AND my Slinky and Shadow, who are still very much alive. And then
later in my dream someone tells me that I have to put down my Trouble, too,
who is going to be five in April....In my dream I keep crying because I have
to put them to sleep--they're not sick in my dream, they're just getting
older and for some reason I have to put them to sleep. Let me tell you,
when I finally awoke from that nightmare, the sense of relief and happiness
was enough to make me cry. Where are these horrible, horrible dreams coming
from?

Frightened to go back to sleep....
