Hi every one. I am so happy that my girls aren't mad at me any more. I
didn't do anything different but we haven't had a problem for almost a week
now. Frumpstiggle - (I hate to say it) my favorite, is definitely a lot
more responsive to human interaction than Minerva is. Frumpstiggle is the
one that will cover you with kisses when you let her out and then
practically leap out of your hands to get down and play. You won't see her
for a few minutes then she will run full speed into your leg and then run
away making a noise that sounds like laughter. The just when you think it's
safe she jumps on your back from a piece of furniture you didn't think she
could even get to. Frumpstiggle is very loving but not in a hold me and
snuggle kind of way. She doesn't have time for all that mushy stuff.

Minerva on the other hand can't wait to be put down - she's only kissed me
about 3 times her whole life. She will play tag with you about once a week.
Her tag is where she runs up to your leg and wraps her arms around it and
then war dances off, usually hitting the wall because she's so excited. But
if you actually catch up with her rather than chase her and suddenly forget
what you were going for she gets upset and won't play anymore. I honestly
don't think Minerva likes to be touched.

They both surprised me this weekend. I had them out for most of the day and
they acted like two different ferrets. Frumpstiggle actually let me stroke
her back for a full hour and a half, if my daughter hadn't kept coming in
the room I think I may have been able to put her to sleep from it. I was
telling Chad it's pretty sad when you get this happy about petting your pet.
But I was - it was a very special moment for me. And Minerva played a new
game with me. After she would grab my leg she would actually lay down on
her back and wait for me to tickle her stomach and then do it all over
again. Wow!

My question on color is this - we hit about 4 pet stores this weekend and at
my least favorite (Pet City at the Mall) I overheard one of their excuses to
jack up the prices on the ferrets. First, I should explain what they looked
like. There were a few that looked to be about 8 weeks in size, and by the
feel of their teeth as they tried to rip my flesh from my hand. They had a
flatter face, not as long and tapered of a nose. They were white with
grayish markings (kinda like a sable ferret with calico cat spots) they had
black eyes. Well the sales girl said they were arctic ferrets and that
they are $200 vs. $139 because dark eyed whites were only about 1 in ten
thousand. Is it just me or is this girl doing some serious false
advertising? I have paid much attention to the colors - I like them all -
but I know I've never seen ferrets like this. I've also never been bit
like that. Any ideas?
