As far as i know as with most animals, ferrets are susceptible to most
things that we are including salmonella.
 
Thats one of the reason that i'm very careful with my ferrets meat,
especailly in the warm weather.
 
I also have snakes and a gecko whcih are carriers of salmonella.  I
always use an antibacterial wet wipe after handling them, to be sure i
am not carrying the bacteria on my skin.
