Just figure I'd add my own experiences with some causes of ferrets ingesting
rubber, plastic or foam, i.e. obstruction hazards. Baby (6/23/97) Cookie so
far has chewed the rubber feet off of my stored-in- the-closest-in-it's-cover
typewriter. Also, the rubber eyecup on a Polaroid SnapShot instant camera,
the rubber cover of the springy door thingy that keeps the door from
slamming into the wall when opened. I also found that she had gotten into
the closed ditty bag that contains the foam rubber sleeping bag pad and was
digging a hole to China, which also seemed to be a source of fun for the
other ferts as well. Cookie also provides sound effects, though unrelated,
to my video camera home movie taping sessions, because while everyone else
is being taped, she's chewing the rubber feet off of the tripod. There's an
earthquake in every scene at my house that sounds like "skrunch, skrunch,
skrunch". BEWARE, SOME FERTS WILL CHEW ON ANYTHING! Glad for Hyperfur and
Chewease to satisfy some of Cookie's cravings. Won't be without them, now.
( No, I have no connection to Hyperfur.)

Unrelated comment: I believe that in the #12 Modern Ferret (pg.54) events
calender had the Baltimore Ferret Club show listed on the 20th of September
in Annapolis, Md. I'm pretty sure it's on the 27th of Sept. Check ahead
before making plans.
