Hello to everyone on the FML . I don't usually post on the FML, I
usually read the posts and reply individually to the ones I think I can
help.

As President of the Ferret Rescue Society of Ottawa and Area, I would
like to take a minute to thank Brenda Zupno and the other wonderful
people who sent Zatharus his Christmas package.

Zatharus is a wonderful little fuzzy who came to us in a set of four.
Given that we couldn't adopt out all four as a set, we paired up one of
the sisters with another little girl and they were adopted. His other
two sisters were also adopted. This left Zatharus, whom we knew couldn't
be adopted because he had insulinoma. Poor little Zac (as we call him)
became a permanent shelter ferret. He went to live with Louise, who is
a member of the shelter, and is spoiled rotten! Zac is currently doing
well, last night when I was talking to Louise on the phone, she was
laughing so hard at his antics . he was trying to hide absolutely
everything that was around him . phone books, shoes, toys, etc. This
was even better news since less than a month ago we thought he would be
ready to cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Yesterday I received Zac's Christmas package and was amazed at the
number of toys and treats that had been sent to him. We also received
a donation in US funds (which makes it almost twice as much for us
Canadians!!!). On behalf of the Ferret Rescue Society of Ottawa, and
Zatharus, I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I
was almost in tears when I saw how much love had been packed into one
small box!

Our Shelter is still struggling, but in the future if we ever have the
funds to return the favour, the FML will be the first to know so we can
help other fuzzies around the world.

Hoping everyone has peaceful holidays, and that each of us takes a moment
to appreciate and love our ferrets, personal and shelter fuzzies. Please
take a moment to remember how much unconditional love and laughter they
give to us.

Sincerely,
Marion Houle
President, FRSO
