Concerning the large scale DMK rescue at hand, a generous volunteer has
come forth and put up a web page, a central focal site, containing all
contact information and ways to help the rescue. It's being updated
constantly. It's a nice tidy way of getting the information out on the
net on a mass level that includes core information. It just includes
facts about donation and contacts without perpetuating rumors and
misinformation, and without overwhelming average people who would like
to help in some way but don't know how.

I am going to be posting a short note with this link almost daily so
it catches the average persons eyes who is not typically online or
who is so busy they cannot read dozens of posts put out online to
decipher how to help. It's simple and sweet. Please pass this link
onto any ferret organizations, animal groups, anywhere that you think
might be interested in helping. Make the post/email short and concise
because the point of all this is to not preach to the choir, but to
capture the majority of the busy public. Attach the link at the end
of your emails/posts if you like as well.

It's still being built, so the initial home page looks incomplete, but
the info is correct and all contact, donation, raffle, etc, info are
there on various pages. The volunteer came forth and did this without
being asked. She saw a need. Believed in it. And she just did it
without bothering anyone since people are up to their ears with work.
The information has come from posts by Lori Sies, et al on the FML. It
has all been cut, copy, and pasted so there are no mistakes. We are
only days into this, so the page will be updated, simplified, etc. On
the "Personal donation page", at least at this hour, there is most of
the information at a glance. There is a lay out of contacts and the
various ways to help. In addition adoption applications/contracts are
also on the site, along with contact info about possible transport
needs or offerings. As I said it's a work in progress. But this way
"something" is up and is a central clearning station if you will for
quick information for the public. I'm sure other shelters and rescuers
involved have information up on their sites that offer the background
story, details, photos, etc. This was just for the majority of the
public that needed quick, easy to find answers.

Hopefully this will alleviate some of the frustration on the publics
part, help hinder the spreading of misinformation, and free up rescuers
time. :)
