Ok my two cents on small edible animals and the minds of my ferrets.
While still very new to ferrets I was holding my chinchilla and my little
Shivers came bounding up.. Now the chin isn't much smaller than the
ferret and Shivers jumped right up and BIT her. Lucky for all the fur
and my hand she didn't get thru to the skin on the chinchilla but I
quickly learned a VALUABLE lesson.

But there is no rhyme or reason to my girls. My cats recently got a
mouse.. it was dead no saving this one, and I had been reading some of
the "wild or whole" food writings...what the heck I bring the mouse to
the ferrets to see what they would do.

Well I tell ya what they did.. they looked at it..they looked at me...
they looked at it.. flipped their nose into the air and went to bed.

I also have now realized that they hold bowl side sharing food parties
around their dish for their friends the mice community for I have seen
one run right over my foot and it came right where YukiSatos nose was
sticking out of her covers.

I think they are all her little friends.

So...my synopsis...

Ferrets ARE carnivores , they CAN and might eat small animals, it is
their nature but they seem to be a bit picky as to WHO they want to
eat... ...*just like a FERRET!*
