Hi, its me again. I wrote last week about a stray kitten I wanted to take
in, and needed advice on how to handle the situation. First, thanks for the
responses I received, but I need more help now. When I was talking to the
woman who found the kitten originally (and who has paid the vet bills so
far--that's how I met the kitty), she was very upset when I told her I hoped
the kitten and my ferret would grow to be close friends. She said, "aren't
they vicious animals?" Which I explained was based mostly rumor or
negligence, but later she said something about discussing it with her
husband; they are concerned. (I hate dealing with this attitude about the
little guys). So, I told her about this list, and that I had asked the
experts for advice. To review, it is a stray kitten which came into my
clinic with flea bite anemia and malnutrition. I became very attached to
her, and she to me, while there; when the woman who found her asked some
girls at work if they knew anyone she could give her to, they said, "I think
we can think of one!" I of course have ideas about the best way to introduce
them, but I need help explaining things to the couple who has her now. My
boy weighs 2.2 lbs, she weighs 1.2, but that will change quickly. Any ideas
how to do this right????? Please email me directly with your ideas..... she
is calling me back Tuesday night to tell me how kitty is progressing in her
recovery. Thanks for listening, again!
