Hello all,

On the Saturday of Labor Day weekend we had quite a houseful. I was busy
building a block wall with my Dad while Chad, my SO, was out walking baby
Hotspur around the yard. I'm up there mixing cement when I hear Chad
shouting from the side of our house "Hotspur caught a toad! What do I do?
What do I do?" I was stunned. I shouted back "Is it dead? Don't let him
kill it." and dashed down to see what was really going on. There sat this
very stunned looking toad, still quite alive and not much worse for the
wear.

Apparently Chad had let Hotspur poke around in some holes that I, the ever
vigilant and paranoid ferret mom, would never dream of letting Fidget near.
NOw I know why Fidget wanted to go investigating--so he could catch himself
a toad. We like having the toad around, so that little part of the yard is
off limits to the boys. And I am happy to announce that Hotspur seemed
alright with the humans offering him some already "caught" and cooked meat
for his dinner. Fidget, of course, turned his nose up at it and went on
his merry way. Silly boy.

cheers
