I don't know if this will help anyone with poop damage done to the floors
walls and baseboards but this works for me. My guys are free roam in a 3
story townhouse that I rent which has if you can believe this - white
carpet They won't use litter boxes, to they boys they are for sleeping
and playing in.

When I first started this they thought this was great fun and chased each
other under the plastic, but just like a ferret they lost interest and
rarely play with the plastic or paper.

Here's what I did:

I bought sheets of 6 mil clear plastic from Home Depot, the kind they
sell in rolls in the paint department. I bought a $15 "heavy duty"
construction type stapler. Then I subscibed to the local newspaper for
Sunday's big paper.

In each of their favorite corners/spots:

- I take the plastic and cut it into 3'x3' squares.

- Staple it to the wall above the baseboard.

- Then I place open sheets of newpaper, usually 2-4 pages thick on top and
  up to the corner.

- Each morning, well OK maybe every other or every 3rd morning, I go from
the top of the townhouse to the bottom and replace the newspaper.

- If there are misses, I pick them up with TP and place them on the paper
in the closest corner. The missed messes gradually became less and
less. If they keep missing in the same spot, it's time to get out the
plastic, staple gun and newspaper for that spot.

- Every once in a while I use a spray cleaner on the plastic to clean it.
I've been doing this for 6 months now and have only had to replace the
plastic once in their Most Favorite spot.

When I move out I can just spackle those areas where the staples are do
some touch up paint.

By the way, I will be having a booth for my real estate business at the
Oregon AFA Ferret Show in Canby, Oregon on June 15th and would love to
meet other FMLers. Come on by!

I hope that helps!
