Hello Arne and Karine. You wondered about if there is anything you should
do after Kermit's neutering.

The instruction I recieved when this was done on my boys, was that the
important thing is that they don't eat for several hours before (don't
remember exactly how many) and preferable not drink anything right before
either. Afterwards let him have some peace and quiet, you'll notice when
he feels up to a little action again.

Often ferrets become their normal self rather quickly after the neutering.
One of my boys did seem dozy and weak after, I helped him to his water
and food (he was mostly interested in drinking) and then sat beside him
watching him sleep for a long time, but after one night he was rather
spunky again. The other one bounced back almost immediately after coming
home. :)

The changes after the surgery consists of positive things, especially if
the ferret went into rut before surgery. He'll stop marking, he won't be
overly aggressive towards other ferrets (male especially) and he will smell
a lot nicer (a little less anyway). Remember that all these changes comes
gradually as his hormones goes out of his system, if in rut, it can take a
week or two.

Hope this helps you. :)

Hugs to Kermit!!

Millan
