Well, she *does* want something.  Unbeknownst to you, she's got a hidden
ferret cam and she's following you to see if you do any "Stupid Human
Tricks" so she can get it on film, send it in and win $100! :)
 
Seriously though, try this.  The next time she follows you, find a
comfortable spot and lay down on the floor.  Wait until she comes up
to you and start playing with her.  Don't pick her up and take her to
where you want to lay down.  Just wait until she comes to you.
 
Do things like roll her on back and (lightly) rub her belly.  While she's
on her back, slowly spin her around.  Put a finger on each of her front
paws and "foot-wrestle" with her.  Gently push her around with your hand
or fingers.  Lift her butt up and wiggle it back and forth (mine love
that!) or just tickle her! :)
 
Chances are, she's bored and is waiting for you to give her some
entertainment.  But don't discount that hidden ferret cam too soon! :)
