I have just come back from visiting a nursery (plants, rocks, etc) in
Glendale, AZ that also has pets. They have had 2 ferrets for almost a
year now. The original owners moved out of state and could not take the
ferrets. The nursery owners believe that the ferrets, one a light sable
and the other a dark sable, male and female, are just over a year old.
They do have some paperwork. I think they are Marshall Farms ferrets.
They never get taken out of their tiny cage. When they are given baths
they are sparyed down cage and all. In the owners defense the ferrets
love bath time! They are biters and will need ALOT of attention. Their
toenails are very long, and their ears have got to be atrocious. They
are beautiful though. I would love to get them but we are full up with
the 8 we have. One of which may be adrenal. He is losing the hair on
his hind feet and lower tummy. :-( We just lost our little albino girl
after putting lots of love and time into keeping her alive, not to
mention the $500.00, in 2 weeks time.

They are asking $80.00 each, I think. I am pretty sure that is not for
the pair. If anyone can give these 2 the time and love they deserve
you may be able to talk the nursery owners into lowering the price.
It should be $80 for the pai,r beings as they are over a year and are
biters, etc. The nursery owners were not even aware that a ferrets
life span is only 5 to 7 years. A lady employee gives the ferrets egg
mcmuffins from McDonalds. :-(

They do not even have a hammock right now. I donated one to them, since
i make my hammies. But it is not in their cage anymore. Probably
trashed after so much use. While I was there today one of the ferrets
went upstairs in their cage to potty. The pee went right down into their
food dish. Had I not seen it and asked the owners to empty it and give
them good food. Those ferrets would probably have eaten it. ICK!

Here is the name of the store.
