>HAMMOCKS- I make my own from cheap remnants from the fabric shop...

What a way to save money so that your ferts can have more stuff.

>LITTERBOXES- I get tall dishpans at Walmart or the dollar store...

Great idea. I tried one of those 'ferret' pans and if you put litter in it,
they would kick it out. If you didn't, then they had to walk in urine. Yuck!

>I couldn't keep my baby out from under the recliner so I bought carpet tack

Ingenious! We did the same sort of thing with cardboard boxes that we cut to
fit areas that the ferts could get hurt or trapped in.

>FOOD DISHES- She always scraped everything out. I got pint freezer

Great idea! I ended up using a heavy crockery pet dish.

>She wouldn't come when I called her so I got a loud bell and rang it before
>every treat. Now when she hears the bell she comes running from where ever
>she is hiding !!!

We do the same thing but with a dog squeak toy. Whenever we squeak it, they
come running to get their favorite treat...ferretone.

>I also make their collars out of elastic with bells and rings from the
>craft store and glue the elastic together with jewel glue. It helps to be
>able to hear them coming.

We did the same thing but so that we could tell where they are since they
are usually hiding (searching) under stuff.

>I also had to go out and adopt her a buddy because she was lonesome...

No one should have just one. Ours is happier now that we have the second
one. His entire attitude is better.

I recommend that the ideas be added to the Ferret FAQ or someplace similar.
