Yes, Aleutian disease occurs in the U.S., mostly in mink.  On rare
occasions, it occurs in ferrets as well.  I was afraid one of my ferrets
had it once, but they all tested negative (fortunately).
 
I didn't know there was a treatment, let alone a cure.  Sorry to not have
any better news.
