I have Pergo and can tell you that it does not stain.  However, as far
as seepage is concerned - if water, urine or the like, is to sit on the
flooring for any length of time, at a seam, then you can find what looks
like a frost heave.  I have not had this problem from the ferrets, but
did have this issue with a feral dog that insisted on using the middle of
the floor for her midnight 'pee'.  Other than that the stuff is probably
the best thing I ever did for myself!!
