I learned from my vet yesterday that my sable, Surabi, is about 7 years
old. She has the gtendency to wobble and fall over so I took her to him in
a mild panic. It's just old age. He did bloodwork and an x-ray. She has
an enlarged spleen and liver and an inflamation that presses on her spine
near her back legs, but is in no pain and in no immediate danger.

He did tell me to take her off the high protien diet as that will aggrivate
her liver and spleen, and to just be gentle with her as I would with an old
grandmother.

Does anyone have any further advice for handling an elderly ferret? I want
to give her the best care, yet still let her run about when she feels like
it.

Oh, and I didn't know her age before as she was passed around a bit before
I adopted her. I had guessed she was the elder of my two, I just didn't
know how much older.
