It's Gary Hosker that you're talking about and he's recently moved over to
your parts.......well, Florida anyway:-) The Official Lurcher Web Site can
be found at http://www.lurcher.com .

Um, at the risk of sounding petty, it's " lays up" when they stay down the
rabbit burrow. "Lays down" sounds a bit biblical, "the lion will lay down
with the lamb" type thing:-))

At least 2 actually, Sheila has one (Spock) and I have um.........4 today!
(I foster them for a local rescue as well as having 3 of my own. If
anyone wants to nosey at ours, they can be seen on the *animals* bit of
http://www.lurcher.demon.co.uk) I'm always happy to talk lurchers:-))

Keeping dogs and ferrets..............our JRT tried to eat the cage our
ferrets were in for about 3 weeks before he gave up. Our lurchers have
all found out that being nipped hurts and keep out of the way now:-))
